About Joan Roberts

Joan Roberts M.A. My mission is to inspire, motivate and train those who work in government and non-profit agencies through knowledge building and knowledge sharing, to adapt to the complex challenges they face in making our world a better place. “A terrifically clear-headed and visionary consultant,” Michael Gilbert, Nonprofit Online News As Director of Capacity Building for the Wellesley Institute, Joan Roberts developed, managed and delivered two leadership programs for the senior staff of NPOs and city government workers in the GTA. Her certificate program in Capacity Building teaches the technical skills needed for effective governance and program delivery for NPO management. As designer and lead trainer for the Wellesley Institute’s Executive Leadership Program, which was developed for executive directors and senior managers in the NPO sector, Joan Roberts’ program aimed to “seed changes” in management approaches to collaboration and take these new ideas back to their home organizations and more widely in the NPO sector. “This program led to significant individual and organizational transformation.” Wellesley Institute, Program Evaluation. First Nations Police Governance Authorities To bring this project together required: a uniquely developed terms of reference, a three module governance training program, and evaluations of training programs and process functions.
